SummerArts Juniors (ages 5-7)

DAY PROGRAM ONLY

This Multi-Arts program challenges children to use their imaginations to explore the world through Visual Art, Music, Creative Movement and Drama. Each week the program will revolve around a cool theme so children have the opportunity to learn how to work cooperatively and collaborate in the arts. 

ONE-WEEK SESSIONS

Planet of the Gods              SA57-1           July  4-8, 2011

Explore science, art of the stars and the planets. Through stories, myth, art and role play, junior campers will have a blast with everything from Roman Gods to Ross Creek Rockets. Combined with our great traditional summer camp atmosphere this will be a week to remember! At the end of the week, there will be a camp wide art show for family and camp.

Rain Forest Explorer           SA57-2           July  11-15, 2011

Discover the rain forests of the world. Explore all the cool creatures that live in them and the landscape of giant forest habitats.  This is going to be a week of stories, visual art, creative movement and FUN! Juniors are sure to have a blast meeting new friends and enjoying our great traditional summer camp atmosphere.  At the end of the week, there will be a camp wide art show for family and camp.

Mighty Monsters                  SA57-3           July 18-22, 2011

Did someone say “MONSTERS?” Don’t worry! We don’t have any scary monsters at Ross Creek. We’ve only got the friendly kind around these parts, and junior campers will spend the week learning about the best kind of friendly monsters and creating new ones! Through art, myths, theatre and visual arts, campers will create their own masterpieces. Coupled with our amazing traditional summer camp atmosphere it is going to be an amazing week for all! At the end of the week, there will be a camp wide art show for family and camp.

Enrolment limited to 20 students per week.
Day Campers Tuition $275 per week
Materials fee $40 + HST
Lunches are included

Culmination

Each one-week session ends with an Open House from 3:30 p.m. to approximately 4:30 p.m. Friday afternoon.  The Open House features the work of both the Multi-Arts and Arts Focus programs. Parents and friends are invited to celebrate many of the finished works and works-in-progress that the children have created during the week.

Bursaries and Scholarships

We are pleased to offer full and half bursaries and scholarships for students who need financial aid. Bursary applications require letters of reference, so please apply early. Bursary decisions are made by a committee and are based on need and merit. We regret that we cannot give full bursaries to all students, but are delighted that we are able to fund a full 10 % of all students through the generosity of corporations, businesses, individuals and some schools.
