Hip hop and B-Boy camps still open
Jazzy Jester
(AKA Jesse Catibog) is back! This top 20 finalist from So You Think You Can Dance Canada is returning for his second year to Ross Creek for our BBoy and Hip Hop Boot Camps run by Dance Nova Scotia. This year he is joined by incredible instructors  Melissa Page-Webster, Mariano Abarca and  Shane “Fish”. Abarca is also from Toronto and his extraordinary style has allowed him to dance in international competitions to great acclaim and championships as well as performing with artists such as Vivica Fox, Tom Green, Mya, K-OS, Wyclef, Arrested Development, Grand Master Flash, De La Soul, Rob Base and DJ Easy Rock - to name a few. He was also provided the exceptional honour of performing for HRH, the Prince of Wales.
Now it’s your turn to learn from the masters - express yourself through Dance while having a fabulous time at camp!

Country Supper & Barn Dance Aug. 27 at 6:00

Celebrate the end of a glorious summer and the start of a fabulous fall with Ross Creek. Enjoy a country supper with neighbours and make new friends then dance the night away at a family friendly all ages with a barn dance! New Film Program announced and searching for students
The Ross Creek Centre for the Arts is currently looking for 10 African Nova Scotian and 10 First Nations youth to participate in a 2-week long academy camp experience. Date Change - this program now runs August 8 -20. One of Ross Creek’s summer camps will be lighting up the silver screen this year, as this special academy will produce a 22-minute film, “Shortcut,” written and directed by Ann Verrall...more

Rockbound wins awards!
We are thrilled that Rockbound has been recognized by the Merritt Awards for Professional Theatre in NS. We had seven nominations this year, and won 5. We congratulate all the nominees and the incredible creative team at Two Planks, the staff at Ross Creek, Leon Cole and Jacqui Good and the Estate of Jean Travers. Winners of the awards were:

Burgundy Code as Outstanding Actress in a Supporting Role
Allen Cole for Outstanding Play by a Nova Scotian
Allen Cole for Outstanding Original Music or Score
Ken Schwartz as Outstanding Director
Rockbound for Outstanding Production.

We also congratulate our nominees
Rosie Browning for Outstanding Costume Design and Marty Burt as outstanding Actor in a Lead Role. Congratulations to all our colleagues!

Ross Creek Artists celebrated
Ross Creek Fellow, novellist and playwright Ami McKay's novel The Birth House was named as an Indigo Book of the decade.

Allen Cole, creator of Rockbound, was named to the Chronicle Herald Honour Roll for 2009.
