March Break is for Exploring!
The Art of Winter Survival
This is a day dedicated to the art of winter survival. Have a great time learning all the basics—building your own shelter, starting a fire for warmth, and learning how to find food. Make great friends and explore the farm, forest, and grounds of Ross Creek while you’re here. Have a blast while learning from our outdoor survival expert!
Get in the Act
One thing Ross Creek knows is great theatre! This one-day workshop is for all young actors that want to sharpen their improv skills and theatre game techniques! Learn how to snap in and out of different characters at a moment’s notice, and spend the day working hard and laughing harder!
Calling all young architects and builders! You’ll see some amazing works by architects to get you inspired, then, using mixed media materials like cardboard, paper, paint, and found objects, you will fire up your imaginations and build a 3-dimensional model form. Along the way, you will learn the basics of architecture.
Bring your work off the page! This sculpture workshop will have you working with found objects, from nature and from our collection of great materials, to allow you to create some amazing works of three dimensional art.
They’re cool, they’re fun and they’re BACK! ArtBots return to Ross Creek for more spectacular fun! Come join us and learn how to build your own art robot that paints and draws the funniest squiggly lines and weird shapes. Campers will learn how to assemble their very own unique ArtBots with used motors from toys.
This is our awesome dragon-building workshop for campers that want to harness their imaginations of dragon power and design! Campers will hear stories and learn about dragons from different global cultures. They will then design and build their own magical beasts. You want wings? YOU GOT IT! You want fire? YOU GOT IT! You want fun? YOU GOT IT!
This one-day workshop is for those that want to add PIZZAZZ to their drawing skills. You will learn great technical tricks to get your line, form, and perspective looking great! You’ll enhance skills you already have and learn new ones!
Full Week Comic Artist
If you love comics, you’ll love this one-week workshop. Comic Artist will give you all the info you need to design your own comic. Create great characters and bring them to life through development of an amazing story and see it all completed in your very own fully realised Creek Comic Book by the end of the week!
How much does camp cost?
All Day Camps are $60 each or $275 for all 5 days of fun. The week-long Theatre and Fashion camps are also $275.
What Time does camp Run?
Camp runs from 9 – 5
The Arts Bus runs during March Break and will travel throughout the Valley to make it easier for parents to get their children to Ross Creek. There are only 14 seats, so first come first served. Bus service is an additional $10 a day, regardless of whether taken both ways. It is supported by O’Regan’s and Clean Nova Scotia and The Ecology Action Centre. Bus fills fast, so please call to check on bus availability.
Bursaries and Scholarships
We are pleased to offer full and half bursaries and scholarships for students who need financial aid. Bursary applications require letters of reference, so please apply early. Bursary decisions are made by a committee and are based on need and merit. We regret that we cannot give full bursaries to all students, but try to assist as many children and families as we can through the generosity of corporations, businesses, individuals and some schools. Bursary applications for March Break are available by clicking here.
The deadline for submissions is January 1.
